Christmas Party Recital Week

December 11-16

Make sure you have registered through the portal for the recital day and time that you want your child to attend. Please continue to encourage your student to try and memorize his or her recital piece. However, always know that we want to create a supportive and encouraging environment so, if your child prefers or needs to play with the sheet music, we will certainly allow it. Make sure your student brings music only if needed and his or her name is on the book. Also know if you student is anxious about playing in front of people, just reach out! We want to nurture students at their own pace. Also, as this is a student only recital please take time to have your child perform for YOU. A little family concert is always a great way to help a child feel confident about performing. If your student was late beginning this semester, missed lessons, or is unable to play, he or she can still attend the party! There is a lot of learning that happens simply by listening to others play. Festive attire preferred!

December Performance Challenge

👏Signature page will be coming home soon. Collect a signature for each performance this season. The goal is to get students performing!

“The fine print”

🌟 “Performance” = playing any piece from the last year of study in its entirety

🌟One signature per person (Selah Recitals don’t count)

🌟 No pets (motivated kids will try anything!)

🌟Virtual performances count, but recorded videos do not (re: sending one video to 50 people is a lovely idea, but it’s not going to score you 50 signatures). Parents can sign “as proxy” for any virtual performances.

🌟 Any single performance counts as a MAXIMUM of 10 signatures

🌟Competition runs from December 10th – December 31st

Winners are announced at the end of our first week back after Winter Break. First prize goes to the student with the most signatures!

🎁$25 cold hard cash OR a Selah Bag. All students who get 30 signatures will go into a drawing for a Selah T-shirt

Next Semester

Beginning January 8th

The calendar at a glance has dates you need and the portal calendar is updated. Please register for Spring Theory Parties. Also, we have a few openings in the Ankeny and Pleasant Hill locations and we want to extend an invitation to our current families to fill those slots. If you have another child or a friend who is interested in beginning lessons, please let us know soon. Also, if anything is changing in your schedule that will affect your lesson time, please let us know asap.
