It’s almost Spring! Well, any real Iowan knows, that this amazing weather is just a teaser. But, I will take it! Speaking of Spring, there are 🍀 NO LESSONS Spring Break week🍀, March 11-16. If you are traveling consider taking flashcards to work on music note recognition or download the app Flash Note Derby. Another fun activity the family can play together is NoteSpeed. None of those items require an instrument, but they can be great “helps” in learning the language of music!
After paying over $2000 in transfer fees last year, we have decided it is time to update our processing. Beginning in April, the credit card processing fee will be added to your payment. This fee is around $4. If you would like to avoid that charge, please consider using your bank instead of your credit card.
A note about bank accounts: Unlike credit cards, bank accounts need to be verified before they can be used. You can instantly verify your bank account while adding it. OR, if you don’t see your bank listed, you can choose the “Enter bank details manually instead” option. Stripe will add a micro deposits of $0.1 to your bank account within 1-2 business days (the deposit in your account will have a transaction number beginning with “SM”).
You’ll also receive an email from Stripe with the next steps.
Once your bank account is verified, you’ll need to set it as the “default” payment option. Do this by clicking the 3 dots to the right of the bank account payment method and select “Make Default”.
….for our Spring Recital on Saturday, May 11 at 11:00 or 2:00. Our teachers will be placing students based on songs and levels so we can create an engaging recital. However, if you have a conflict and one time would work better for your family than another, please log in and REGISTER in the portal CALENDAR.
As the recital is just around the corner we will be choosing recital pieces soon! All of our method books have supplementary books that can be purchased to complement and reinforce each level. Several of these books have impressive recital options. Please chat with your teacher if there is something your student would enjoy. You can find Hymns, Jazz & Blues, Disney, Classics and more. We are more than willing to copy one piece for recital, however, it is always fun for a student to have more music to explore and choose from. Remember you can log in to the portal and send your teacher a message there!
Know anyone who would like to begin Piano? Please spread the word that our newest teacher, Mrs. Carol Nippert has only a few openings left.
